About the Role
To stand up and lead the Order‑to‑Cash and logistics backbone for our US business, supporting the US hub programme led by the Regional Director US & Canada. The role integrates finance operations (credit control, cash application, month‑end support), customer service (order management, issue resolution), and logistics (3PL coordination, outbound freight, documentation) to deliver world‑class service, compliance and working‑capital discipline across the US market.
Main Responsibilities
- Customer Service / Order‑to‑Cash
- Build and run a US order management cadence (intake -> allocation -> ship -> invoice -> cash), maintaining accurate orders, pricing and credits in ERP.
- Own OTIF and fill‑rate performance governance; issue proactive “Order in Hand” and backlog insights to Sales & Finance.
- Lead customer issue resolution (short ships, damages, deductions/chargebacks) and implement corrective actions.
Logistics & Compliance
- Select, brief and govern US 3PLs and freight partners; schedule outbound shipments; ensure accurate ASN/label/EDI requirements where applicable.
- Prepare/oversee export & domestic documentation and records; steward compliance with US import rules, state distribution requirements and (where relevant) HMRC origin documentation for exports.
- Track freight spend and service; drive cost‑to‑serve transparency and improvements.
Finance Operations
- Oversee AR health (terms, aging, disputes) and credit‑limit adherence; partner with Sales on releases and escalations in line with policy.
- Support month‑end close (accruals, revenue recognition checks, reconciliations) and deliver clear O2C performance commentary.
- Standardise controls and documentation; align with Finance on provisioning, write‑offs and audit readiness.
US Market Enablement (Programme Support)
- Act as the day‑to‑day operations lead for the US hub workstream; identify process gaps, risks and mitigations; coordinate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing and Finance leadership (incl. the future US Commercial leadership once in post).
- Solid O2C leadership across FMCG/spirits or adjacent sectors, covering order management, AR/credit control and distributor operations.
- Practical 3PL/freight coordination and documentation experience (US domestic & import).
- Working knowledge of ERP (SAP preferred), EDI, and standard O2C metrics; strong Excel/analytics.
- Stakeholder management across Sales/Finance; experience implementing process controls and service KPIs.
- Manage and own your professional development in order to achieve your work objectives and your career and personal goals.
